Homemade beers can be brewed using a few basic materials, and adding fresh ingredients like blackberry fruit can add a unique taste you won't find at many pubs. Bottle the beer after brewing and store it in your fridge for a crisp taste. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Bucket
  • 40 ounces malt extract
  • 7 cups sugar
  • 1 pound blackberries
  • 1 yeast packet

Instructions

      Pour three gallons of water into a clean bucket.

      Bring two gallons of water to a boil in a pot on the stove. After boiling, add malt and stir for 20 minutes.

      Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add one pound of blackberries.

      Add mix to the bucket and quickly stir with the water.

      Add a few cups of cold water to bucket to bring the liquid to room temperature.

      Add yeast packet, found at specialty food stores, and stir. Cover with a lid.

      Store in a cool dark place for 10 days, until ready to drink.
