How to Find My Number in Numerology
Pythagoras (569-470 B.C.) is often credited with the origination of numerology, the study of numbers in relation to character tendencies and life paths. Two common numbers are used to determine aspects of an individuals life, including the life number and destiny number. Your life number is calculated by birth date and your destiny number is calculated by full name. Life path numbers represent personality characteristics whereas destiny numbers are symbolic of tasks and opportunities in your lifetime.

Birth Date Number
-
1
Write down your exact birthday in MM/DD/YYYY format. For example, if your birthday is June 19, 1988, the numbers would be 6/19/1988.
-
2
Add the birth date numbers together. Using the example in step one, the equation would be 6+19+1988 and the answer would be a four digit number, in this case, 2013.
-
-
3
Add the numbers in the four-digit answer together to get a one digit number. However, if your answer turns out to be 11 or 22, do not narrow it down, as these are master numbers and are left alone (i.e., if your birth date added up to 2009, 2+9=11 so this would be your numerological life path number). Continue to add the digits of a two-digit number until you get a single digit.

4
Refer to your birth date number when reading birth date (life path) numerology charts.
Name Number
-
5
Write down your full name as it appears on your birth certificate. Include any middle names if there are any.
-
6
Translate your name into numbers using the numerological name chart. In numerology, A is 1, B is 2, C is 3 and so on until you reach the number 9. After 9, the numbers would start over with J being 1, K being 2 and again until 9 is reached. Finally, it starts again with S being 1, and so on until Z is an 8.
-
7
Write down the corresponding number below each letter in your name.
-
8
Add all of the numbers up until you reach a single-digit number (or a master number, 11 or 22). For example, for Mark Smith, the equation would be 4+1+9+2 equaling out to 7 and then 1+4+9+2+8 which equals 24. Finally, you would add 7+2+4=13. Reduce it to a single digit by adding 1+3.

9
Refer to your number when reading numerology name (destiny) charts.

Tips & Warnings
For master numbers (11 and 22), do not reduce. For example, if your last name equaled out to an 11, you would add your first name plus 11 and continue adding until you reach a single digit (or new master number).
