Just about anyone can edit photo effects.

With the advent of digital photography, desktop publishing programs have evolved too. There are a myriad of user-friendly photo editing programs that almost eliminate the need for professional retouching. Any person who wants to edit photo effects on pictures can find online picture editors that are fairly easy to use.

Instructions

  1. Picnik

    • 1

      Go to the Picnik website. Since you don't need to register for this free service, click on "Start Picniking."

      Upload your picture by clicking on the "Upload a Photo" button. When the menu pops up, find the folder where you've saved your picture and click "OK."

      Edit the photo effects by selecting the different options available on the top, such as: Auto-Fix, Rotate, Crop, Resize, Exposure, Colors, Sharpen and Red-Eye.

      Click "Create," and you will find several tools that will help you create effects, including: negative, sepia and brushstroke. Save your work by clicking on the last tab: "Save & Share."

    Phixr

      Go to the Phixr website and click the "Get Started!" button. Although you're not required to register for this service, a floating window will ask you to sign up if you're planning on using this service often or for a few hours.

      Upload the photo by choosing one of the two options available: browsing on your computer or entering a link for an online picture. Once you upload the file, a toolbar with several options will appear on the left side of the photo.

      Edit the photo effects by choosing any of the options on the left bar. This toolbar has several useful tools, such as: red-eye reduction, noise reduction, sharpness, blurs, charcoal effects, funny faces and pixelating.

      Save your work by clicking the saving options below, which will give you an array of formats to choose from. You'll also find other options that will enable you to share and email your recently edited photos.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use these online services when you're on the go and don't have access to software that will enable you to edit photo effects.
