Chantix Directions
Chantix, the trade name for the chemical compound varenicline, is prescribed in pill form to help treat tobacco addiction. The drug works by targeting nicotine receptors in the brain, attaching to them and blocking nicotine from reaching them. Chantix is approved by the FDA, but carries strong warnings about the potential side effects, including changes in behavior, nausea, heartburn, trouble falling or staying asleep, and blisters in mouth, to name a few. The recommended treatment plan lasts for 12 weeks, according to Chantix's official website.
