How to Divide a Coupon Holder
There are many coupon holder formats available. Some people prefer an accordion-style folder with dividers, and others prefer a binder with clear plastic pages with slip pockets. Regardless of the preferred style, a coupon holder is of little use if it is not organized well to help you find the coupon you are looking for while shopping. Properly divide the coupon holder to organize and locate the coupons you have and save while shopping.

1
Think about the typical items you shop for and write down the categories on a piece of paper. An example of a category is "Hair Care," where you may include coupons for shampoo, conditioner, hairstyling and hair coloring products. Other typical categories may include "Dry Food," "Frozen Food," "Dairy," "Cleaning Products" and "Medicine/First Aid."

Write out each listed category on a sticky label.

Apply a sticky label to each dividing section of your coupon holder. Many accordion-style folders have tabs to which you can apply labels. For binder-style coupon holders, insert a page divider and label the side of it with your sticky label.

Place the appropriate coupons into each section and continue maintaining the coupon holder by filtering through it monthly to take out any unused and expired coupons. Continue to add categories to your coupon holder, as needed, to keep your coupons organized and easy to find.
