QuickBooks Pro is tax management software developed by the Intuit Corporation (makers of Quicken personal finance software and TurboTax). QuickBooks Pro is designed for businesses, while TurboTax and Quicken are for individuals. You can install, register, and configure your QuickBooks Pro software for use calculating your company's taxes in about five minutes.

      Turn on your computer and insert the QuickBooks Pro CD into the CD tray. Close the tray and run the QuickBooks Pro installer. Click "Yes" to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) and "Next" to begin the program's installation. Wait for the program's installer to finish, then run QuickBooks Pro.

      Register your version of QuickBooks Pro with Intuit online by clicking "Help" at the top of the program, then "Register QuickBooks." You will be prompted to enter your user information and unique product key to validate your installation. If Web registration of QuickBooks Pro is unsuccessful, you can register the program by telephone from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time seven days a week by dialing the toll-free number provided on the screen by Intuit Corp.

      Configure your company tax file. The first time you run QuickBooks Pro, it will automatically display a new user guide that walks you through the creation of your company's tax file. Type in your company's name, employees, sales tax information, and Federal Tax ID number to create your company tax file.
