How to Make a Pair of Jump Boots Just the Right Size
Jump boots, thick combat boots made of leather, are used primarily by military officers. These boots have a very specific style and manufacturing technique, and may feel stiff or uncomfortable to those who are used to wearing sneakers. However, you can increase the comfort of your jump boots by purchasing boots in your exact size and adding or removing the padding inside the shoes. You may need to shop in specialty military stores to locate jump boots. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure your feet to determine your exact size. Use the foot measure at a shoe store or use a measuring tape. Set the measuring tape along the floor so that it moves straight. Step on the tape so that your heel hits the "0." Check where your big toe hits the measuring tape and note the measurement. Measure the width of your foot at the widest point. Compare the measurement to a size chart.

Purchase jump boots in the correct size.

3
Put on socks of a medium thickness and try on your shoes. Determine where the shoe is too loose.
-
4
Tighten the laces near the ankle if the jump boots are too loose around the ankle. Loosen the laces near the ankle if the jump boots are too tight around the ankle.
-
5
Add a flat insole to your jump boots, if they are too wide. Slide the insole into the shoe so that it lies flat. Alternatively, wear a thicker sock.
-
6
If you feel too much pressure over any area of your foot, skip the eyelet directly over this area of your foot. This often makes your heel looser, so it should not be performed if the boots are already too loose in the heel.
-
7
Replace the insole with a thinner insole if your shoes are too tight. This may make walking in the jump boots less comfortable, because there is less padding. Alternatively, wear thinner socks.
