1
Visit your local thrift store and select baby clothes, such as shirts and onesies. The plainer the better as it's easier to alter or recreate designs on solid colored shirts than it is with shirts that already have elaborate designs. Alternatively, ask your friends and family if they have any baby shirts lying around to donate.

2
Go to your local fabric store and select printed fabrics of your choice. You can select cute animals or cartoon characters that your child takes an interest in. Or they can be cute designs and colors that would like nice on a shirt.

3
Turn the printed fabric over and place it on an ironing board. Iron the back of the printed fabric and wait for it to cool. Once cool, cut out the shape of the fabric.

4
Peel the paper backing off the fusible web and position it onto the baby shirt. Firmly attach it to the shirt and use the iron to fuse the fabric to the shirt. Follow the instructions of the particular fusible web that you're using, as they may differ from type-to-type.

5
Stitch around the edges. Insert thread into the eye of the needle and tie a knot. Penetrate the edge of the fabric with the needle; pull the needle through the bottom of the shirt. Take the needle from the bottom of the shirt and insert it through the fabric and pull it through completely to the front of the shirt. Do this until the fabric is stitched all around. This will help the design last longer. Otherwise, the fabric may start to peel off after a few washes.
