How do I Change the Battery in a Sony Walkman?

The Sony Walkman MP3 and CD players do not include a user-serviceable battery. You void the warranty on these products if you open them to change the battery yourself. The Sony Walkman cell phone provides the function of a Sony Walkman MP3 player with the integration of a cell phone. The phone has a replaceable battery that is accessible without the need of a service center. Order a new battery from Sony or buy one from a mobile phone retailer.

Instructions

1. Push and hold the power button on the top corner of the phone to turn the power off.

2. Set the phone upside down. Place your thumbs at the top of the battery cover in the center of the phone. Push toward the bottom of the phone to remove it.

3. Lift the battery out of the compartment. Insert the new battery with the label facing up and the contacts facing the center of the phone.

4. Align the battery cover and slide it back onto the phone until it snaps into place.
