How to Order a VA DMV Driving Report

Since insurance companies, traffic courts and some employers will check your driving history, it's a good idea to obtain a VA DMV driving report periodically to check it for accuracy. In the state of Virginia there are several ways you can order a DMV driving report and you will need to specify the reason you need the report. If it is for your insurance company you only need a 5-year history. If it is for an employer or potential employer you need a 7-year history. If you don't state a reason the Virginia DMV will provide you with an 11-year history.
