1
Pry off the trim surrounding the window with a pry bar on the inside and outside of the window. Use a ladder if necessary to access the outside of the window.
-
2
Unscrew the fasteners located at the top and bottom of the window. In some cases you may need to drill out the old fasteners. Lift the old window out of the opening. Take the window out towards the outside if possible, to avoid bringing dirt and debris into the home. Brush out any dirt and debris around the window opening.

Screw the window into the surrounding frame material with screws. Even with brick homes there is usually a wooden frame for the window to sit in. Use screws long enough to hold securely in the wood.
