Hook Up My Samsung TV to a Computer

Samsung TVs are designed with computer connection jacks so that you can hook up your computer to the television and use it as you would use a monitor. The option of connecting a computer to a Samsung TV is great for people who use movie download services. Televisions are often larger than computer monitors, and many people prefer watching programming on a television as opposed to a computer monitor.

Instructions

Look at the back of your computer for either a "PC Out" or "DVI Out" jack. If you find a "PC Out" jack, you need to use a D-Sub cable. If you find a "DVI Out" jack, you need to use a HDMI-to-DVI cable.

Plug one end of your connecting cable into the jack on the back of your computer. If you are using a D-Sub cable, you can plug either end of the cable into the computer. If you are using an HDMI-to-DVI cable, plug the larger end into your computer.

Plug the other end of the cable into the appropriate jack on the back of your Samsung television. If you are using a D-Sub cable, plug the cable into the "PC In" jack. If you have an HDMI-to-DVI cable, plug it into the "DVI" or "HDMI (DVI) In" jack.

Connect the audio cable to the "Audio Out" jack on the back of your computer. Connect the other end of the cable to the "PC/DVI Audio In," "Audio" or "DVI Audio In" jack (depending on your model) on the back of your Samsung television.
