1
Host your Bible study party at your church or home. Offer comfortable seating and a coffee table or kitchen table to make note taking easier for your guests.
-
2
Prepare a study or lesson topic. Speak to invitees beforehand and take a poll of what lessons the guests need, according to current life events. Arrange a lesson or study plan for your meeting.
-
-
3
Offer extra Bibles to guests who forgot to bring along their own Bibles. Borrow additional Bibles from friends and family members who cannot attend your party.
-
4
Provide pens, paper and highlighters for guests to easily take notes as you study. Take this a step further by reusing scraps of paper from previously printed documents.
-
5
Place a box of tissues in the study area to accommodate your guests' emotions as you read and discuss scripture.
-
6
Serve refreshments to study party guests. Make Bible-themed snacks such as cross-shaped cookies, cakes and candies.
-
7
Say a prayer to begin your Bible study party. If you do not feel comfortable asking for a blessing over your meeting, ask if anyone else would like to lead your guests in prayer.
-
8
Invite party guests to read aloud the selected scripture for your lesson. Read it aloud yourself if no one else feels comfortable with the task.
-
9
Ask study questions or strike up discussion when you finish reading a section of scripture. Ask guests to discuss what the reading material means to them, how it makes them feel and how it relates to current situations in their life. Do not push for details. Let guests tell only what they want, and ask their own questions to you and other guests. Draft your own study questions, or use questions included in various study-themed Bibles.
-
10
Ask guests for any prayer requests for themselves or loved ones before the closing prayer. Lead the final prayer or ask guests to lead before dismissing the study party.
