How to Optimize Feeds for OneBox
OneBox is a tool that Google Base uses to deliver product-purchasing information quickly and efficiently to users. If you search for a product, Google lists prices and sources -- which it builds from company-provided feeds -- above the regular search results; these are known as OneBox results. Optimizing your company's feeds is crucial to ensuring that you get optimal OneBox placement.

1
Determine for which keywords people are searching using Google's Keyword Tool External (see "Resources" below). For example, if you manufacture refrigerators, you may want to know that global users search "fridge" almost as often as they do "refrigerator," but American users search "refrigerator" three times as often.
-
2
Log into your Google Base account or create one if you don't have one.
-
-
3
Create an XML file for your website (consult your site host if you are not sure how; the process varies by hosting provider) and send it to Google Base under "Contact." Tell them how often to update their listings.
-
4
Select your Product Types to control where your feed lives. You can select several product types, but do not select more than are really relevant.
-
5
Enter brief product features under "Custom Attributes." For example, you might mention a computer monitor's screen size or the number of bedrooms in an apartment. Use the keywords you found in Step 1.
