Circular saw blades are a staple in almost all wood shops. These portable, hand-held saws can handle a multitude of different tasks. Although circular saws tend to be relatively hassle-free, they do sometimes require maintenance. Although simply replacing your circular saw blade is an option, sharpening them will save you money on constant replacements. Check to make sure the saw is unplugged.

Lift the blade guard and use your wrench to remove the blade's retaining bolt. Slide the blade off after you have removed the retaining bolt.

Place blade inside a table or work bench vise and close the vise on the blade.

Place the diamond sharpener surface flat against the inner face of saw tooth. Move the sharpener back and forth using light, smooth strokes.

Skip every other tooth until you have made your way around the entire circular blade. Once you have done that, sharpen the remaining teeth in the same manner.

Place the blade back on your circular saw and tighten the retaining bolt.
