How to Replace Faucet Adapters for Maytag Portable Dishwashers

Maytag portable dishwashers receive water directly from your faucet using a portable dishwasher faucet adapter. The hose from the dishwasher locks onto the faucet adapter when the dishwasher is in use. When the dishwasher is not in use, the hose unlocks from the faucet so that the dishwasher can be stored. After regular usage, hard water and other dissolved solids will often clog and corrode the faucet. A clogged faucet will reduce water flow in both your sink and dishwasher. To restore water-flow, replace the faucet adapter installed on your faucet. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the faucet and place a flat object, such as a plate, over the drain to avoid accidentally dropping a piece of the adapter into the drain.

    • 2

Unscrew the old faucet adapter using your hands. To loosen, turn the adapter counterclockwise.

    • 3

Insert the two screens included with the new adapter into the underside of the faucet adapter.

    • 4

Insert the thin washer included with the adapter above the screens.

    • 5

Insert the thick washer, included with the new adapter, above the thick washer. Skip this step if the sink threading is located on the outside of the faucet.

    • 6

Align the new adapter with the bottom of the faucet and thread the adapter onto the faucet until tight.
