How to Take a Screen Shot From a Website & Email It
Capturing a screen shot and emailing it can be a useful technique when trying to explain a website preference, highlight a feature or work with a web developer. The steps for capturing the screen shot are straightforward but vary slightly depending on the operating system you are working with. Regardless of your computer manufacturer or your email service, emailing a screen shot can be done with minimal computer knowledge and in a matter of minutes.

If using a Mac, a cross-hair will appear and you can release the buttons. Hold your mouse button down and drag the mouse over the section you wish to capture. You will hear a shutter sound, and a graphic file in a PNG format will appear on your desktop.
If you are using a PC, open a word processing program after you press the screen capture activation buttons. The operating system will have added the full screen capture to your clipboard. Right-click the word processing page and select the "Paste" option. Your screen shot should appear in the word processing document. Save the file.

Send the email and wait several moments to be sure the attachment went through. Most screen captures have a small file size, so sending them as an attachment should not be an issue. Most email providers allow up to 10-MB attachment files and the average screen capture should be 1 MB or smaller.
