Estate Electric Dryers Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting your Estate electric clothes dryer helps you solve minor technical issues and determines whether you need a technician to examine the appliance. Home appliance manufacturers like Whirlpool, Estate's parent company, recommend you follow a troubleshooting guide before calling for repair because it saves you and the company time and money in the long run. Many commonly reported problems stem from an interruption to the power supply, misuse of the dryer or mistakes using the controls. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Check your circuit breakers for faults -- the dryer might stop spinning if one of its dual breakers are tripped. Reset both breakers, if necessary, and try the dryer again. Change the fuses with suitable time-delay replacements if your home doesn't have circuit breakers.
-
2
Ensure you are using the correct voltage power supply with your dryer. Some Estate dryers need a special 240-volt connection instead of the standard American 120-volt household supply. Contact an electrician if you suspect your dryer wasn't installed correctly.

3
Push the dryer door until it clicks shut -- the latch might not be engaged. Estate dryers don't start spinning or heating until the door is completely closed. Check that the controls are set correctly -- the dryer remembers the settings from the previous cycle -- and hold the "Start" button until the drum starts spinning. The dryer won't start if the dial is in the "Wrinkle Prevent" position.

4
Dry fewer clothes at one time; the drum might be overloaded with the weight of the clothes. One washing machine load equals one dryer load. Take some clothes out and try starting the dryer again. Don't pack wet clothes into the drum or add extra heavy items once the load has started.
