Instructions

    • 1

Open the "hood" of your Craftsman 552 snowblower. Locate the air filter and open it. Replace the air filter if it is dirty and clean out any debris. Unfasten the air filter from the carburetor's top using a wrench.

    • 2

Start your Craftsman 522 snowblower and allow it to idle. Turn the idle screws on the carburetor to adjust the idle. If your Craftsman is running too high in the idle position, turn the idle screws with a screwdriver clockwise to slow the idle speed. If your Craftsman is running too slow in idle speed, turn the idle screws counterclockwise to speed up the idling.

    • 3

Adjust the choke valve with a screwdriver. To increase your Craftsman's engine power, loosen the choke valve screw. To decrease your Craftsman's engine power because it runs too hot, tighten the choke valve screw.

    • 4

Unfasten the Craftsman's float valve near the fuel intake with a wrench. Clean it with a cloth and spray it with lubricant. Fasten the float valve back to the Craftsman's carburetor. Replace the air filter and put the hood back down.
