How to Clean a Mesh Pool Cover & Safety
Covering your pool during the winter months keeps it safe from debris. A mesh safety cover over your pool also keeps children and animals from falling into the cold pool. The mesh allows snow and rain to fall through the cover while trapping leaves and other debris on top. Cleaning the mesh pool cover before you remove it in the spring makes for easier storage. Brush off leaves and debris from the pool cover, using the broom.

Attach a high-powered nozzle to the end of the water hose and turn on the water. Hose off the remaining debris on the mesh pool cover.

Remove the mesh cover, if you notice spots of algae, mildew or mold that cannot be simply hosed off. Soak the mesh cover in non-chorine bleach or a mixture of lemon juice and salt, recommends the University of Illinois Extension.
