Checkmate is an aftermarket car alarm brand that can be fitted to models of all makes and years. Normally, a remote is used to enable or disable the car alarm, but if the remote breaks, you may have to use an alternative method.

Step 1

Set off your alarm by locking and pulling the door handle from the outside.

Step 2

Enter your car and insert your key into the ignition. Turning the key to the "On" position will disable your alarm if it is working properly.

Step 3

Locate the alarm transmitter under your steering column. Remove wires until you find the correct one and the alarm turns off.
