Room Essentials Five Shelf Bookcase Assembly Instructions

Trinise L. Castro

A Room Essentials brand bookcase that requires assembly is designed with everything you need to put it together. Each shelf and side of the bookcase is pre-drilled for your convenience. It can be helpful to take a brief look at each item prior to beginning to assemble the bookcase.

A multishelf bookcase is easy to assemble.

This will give you a general idea of where to attach each part of the bookcase.

  1. Open the package, remove all of the parts and bolts from the box and place all of the items on a carpeted or scratch-free surface. Gather all of the shelves into one area and the included hardware into another area.

  2. Look for directional markings on each shelf. The side of each piece will be marked to help you match up parts. There may be markings either by numbers from 1 to 5 or letters from A to E.

  3. Hammer the locking nuts into the pre-drilled holes in the top and bottom sides of the first two shelves (A and B). The locking nuts help to hold the bookcase together. Only partially tighten each locking nut at this time.

  4. Hammer the locking nuts into the pre-drilled holes in the top and bottom sides of the first two shelves (C and D). Set the bottom piece onto the floor and attach each of the side pieces to the bottom piece. Position the top piece into the locking bolts of the bottom piece.

  5. Turn over the bookcase gently so that the backside is facing up. Hammer each nail into the back piece to secure it. Stand up the bookcase upright.

  6. Tighten each locking bolt with the screwdriver. Line up each shelf peg to set each shelf to the chosen height. Slide the shelves inside the bookcase one by one.
