The grass really is greener in the computer game The Sims.

The Sims, originally released in 2000, is a multi-platform game published by Electronic Arts. The Sims originally debuted on PC, but it is also supported by GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation 2. The Sims is a strategy/sim game where players attempt to advance in their careers and personal relationships through various characters. Another element of the game involves building and designing property -- and that includes landscaping. Grow grass in The Sims to make those properties look perfect.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert The Sims CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive and run the application that will load the game.

    • 2

Choose any of the properties on The Sims map after the game loads.

    • 3

Select Live mode from the tabs on the toolbar; the Live mode icon looks like a silhouette of a person.

    • 4

Hit the "Play" button while in Live mode and allow the natural game time to pass. Select one of the fast-forward buttons to advance the speed of time. Game grass will grow naturally over time, like real grass, to fill in brown and bare patches in the yard. Alternately, a cheat code may be used to make the process happen instantaneously.

    • 5

Press the [Ctrl], [Shift] and C button on the keyboard at the same time to make a narrow text box appear at the top of the screen.

    • 6

Type in grow_grass followed by a number from 1 to 150, and hit the enter key to activate the cheat code. The number 1 represents the least amount of growth; 150 is the maximum growth. The code creates bright green, perfect grass throughout the lawn.
