How to Get the Recycle Bin Shortcut Back

The Windows desktop displays icons for programs and folders you have placed there and want to access quickly. The desktop also contains icons that are displayed by default, including the Recycle Bin icon. If you, or another user, have removed the Recycle Bin icon, you can change the desktop settings and have the icon restored to the desktop.

Instructions

1. Right-click on the Windows desktop, then click "Personalize" to open the Control Panel window.

2. Click "Change Desktop Icons" in the Control Panel window.

3. Click the "Recycle Bin" check box. A check mark appears in the box, indicating the icon is displayed on the desktop.

4. Click "OK" to save the changes.
