How to: Frosting That Looks Like Sand

Things You'll Need
- Measuring cup
- Dark brown chocolate frosting
- Mixing bowl
- White frosting
- Wooden spoon
- Tablespoon
- Nuts (whole or chopped)
- Raw sugar crystals
- Food processor or chopping knife
- Yellow food coloring (optional)
Instructions

Empty 1/2 cup of dark brown chocolate frosting into a mixing bowl.

Add 1/4 cup of white frosting. Stir with a wooden spoon until both colors of icing are evenly blended.

Continue adding white frosting a few tablespoons at a time until you reach the desired color.

Add light-colored, chopped nuts or raw sugar cystals to the icing to give it texture. If you have whole nuts, put them into a food processor or finely chop them by hand.

Add the nuts or sugar crystals to the icing a little bit at a time. Stir the frosting with a wooden spoon, adding more nuts or sugar crystals until you reach the desired consistency.

Tips & Warnings
You can add a small amount of yellow food coloring to the icing to make it look even more sand-like.
Add the nuts or sugar crystals to the frosting a little bit at a time to make sure that it doesn't get too lumpy.
If you decide to use peanuts in your frosting, check beforehand to make certain that none of your guests is allergic to peanuts.
