1
Select plates based on the theme or color of the room decor. The design or picture on the plates should complement the existing decor. Using contrasting colors works as long as the patterns do not clash.
-
2
Decide on the layout and re-create it on the floor using the plates. Whether a cluster over the bed, a line around the door or wall border, lay the plates along the floor in the order they will appear on the wall.

Attach a piece of adhesive strip to the back of the plate. Adhesive strips are available commercially in rolls similar to tape or in precut strips. The amount needed is directly proportionate to the weight of the plate. For light plates, a small strip is all you should need. For heavier plates, apply multiple long strips across the back.

Press the plate to the wall and hold for several seconds. With the first plate, ensure the adhesive is strong enough to hold before completely releasing. If using various weights of plates, wait for several seconds before fully releasing each plate.

Tips & Warnings
If placing plates over a bed, ensure the headboard will not be hitting the wall. This can shake the plates loose.
Be aware that using a vaporizer or humidifier in the bedroom may cause the adhesive to let loose. The bedroom is typically not exposed to continuous moisture, but these devices will change the amount of water in the air and on the walls.
