How to Defend Tol Barad

How to Defend Tol Barad thumbnail
Tol Barad is the new player versus player zone in "World of Warcraft."

Every two hours on a small island in Baradin Bay, home to a magical prison, a massive struggle between the Horde and Alliance occurs. This island known as Tol Barad is the new player versus player combat zone in "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm." The zone consists of three bases that must be conquered to grant victory. Access to a raid boss, several dailies and commendations used to buy reputation rewards are all granted by winning this battle.

Instructions

    • 1

Attack bases in large groups. A single strong wave of forces can easily overwhelm whatever defense a single base has.

    • 2

Move to the next base if you die. Don't try to fortify your base. Only leave a few members at the base you capture to warn about enemy advances.

    • 3

Attack in a circular pattern. A clockwise path is usually the best path for defenders, but finding the base with the least amount of enemies always takes priority. Defenders resurrect in the middle of the map, which gives a clear advantage in moving between bases.

    • 4

Communicate which base dead players should go to when they are resurrected. Every dead defender comes back to life in 30-second intervals on top of Baradin Hold, which is located in the middle of the map. All of the resurrected players attacking in unison are capable of toppling any resistance at a base.

Tips & Warnings

  • Winning Tol Barad as defense is much easier than while attacking.

  • Stick with your raid. Defense can be beaten if they lack proper group coordination.
