How to Update a Computer With Internet Explorer 8
Internet Explorer 8 is a version of Microsoft's Web browser released for the Windows platform. It features separate address and search bars, tabs, crash recovery and numerous security fixes since the release of Internet Explorer 7, including a phishing filter that warns you of fraudulent websites. Internet Explorer 8 is available as a free download and will run on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.

Navigate to the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 download page in your preferred Web browser. (See Resources.)

Select your origin country in the first drop-down box below "Step 1." This is required to ensure you have the proper localization of Internet Explorer.

Click your version of Windows from the list of operating systems that support Internet Explorer 8. Windows 7 is not listed here because Internet Explorer 8 comes preinstalled on Windows 7 systems.

Save the file to your hard drive or run it from its current location when prompted by the browser. Run the file when it finishes downloading.

Choose your preferred Internet Explorer settings in the setup window and review the software's license agreement. Windows will automatically update your version of Internet Explorer to 8.

Restart your computer when prompted by setup. Once you have restarted, Internet Explorer 8 will be installed and ready to use.
