How to Make Your Own Notecards With Your Own Photos
Use your own photos to create personalized notes such as thank-you cards and save-the-date cards. Start by choosing one or more photos to feature on the front of your card. Make sure to select crisp and clear photos for your design. You can design the cards on your own computer using a photo-editing program and print them at home, or you can send your creation to a photo printing service.

Ordering Photo Cards
-
1
Choose an online service such as Snapfish or Shutterfly and set up an account. Accounts are free and require only an e-mail address.
-
2
Upload the photo you want on your card by going to the service's Web site and following the instructions.
-
-
3
Follow the directions on the site for making a photo card. All sites are different, but they follow the same basic format. Choose the size, page orientation and whether or not you want words on the front. Make sure that everything is correct on the note cards before saving.
-
4
Order your note cards. You can purchase just one, but cards tend to be cheaper the more you order. You pay using a credit or debit card. Your note cards are shipped within a few business days.

Open an art design program, such as Photoshop, on your computer. Open a new document and set the width and height to the size you want your note cards. Typical sizes are 5-by-7 inches, although you can make 3-by-5 or 4-by-6 inch cards. Set the resolution at 300 dots per inch for printing purposes.
-
6
Open and upload the picture you want to use for your card into the document. Resize it by going to the Image menu and selecting "Resize." Make sure it is the same size or a bit smaller than your document size. Using the "move" tool, drag the photo onto the document, lining up edges and making sure it is straight.
-
7
Select the "text" tool to add any words to your image. Click on the photo where you want the text to go; a box appears for you to type in. You can change the font, size or color of the text and move it around to see where it looks best.
-
8
Save your file to your computer. You can send the file to a printer to be professionally printed or print it at home on an inkjet printer. If printing at home, be sure to use a sturdy paper such as card stock.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have access to the Internet or a design program, take your digital photo to a store that processes photos, such as CVS or Walgreens. You can create a photo card on the photo machines in the store, or the employees can do it for you.
