How to Rent a Historical Home for a Wedding in Maryland
Maryland historic homes can be idyllic locations for wedding ceremonies. The Maryland Historical Trust maintains an extensive database on historic homes through Maryland's National Register of Historic Places. Many homes in Maryland's National Register have been converted into museums, and some are available for rent. Each historic home has different hours of operation, rules and availability. The Victorian Preservation Association of Santa Clara Valley also maintains a list of historic homes all over the state, complete with contact information, for people who wish to learn about Maryland's vintage homes.

Choose historic homes you may be interested in renting and bookmark them for later use. Write down telephone numbers and contact information for each home you are considering. If there is no contact information listed, you may need to conduct a separate Internet search using the property's name; you can also call the Maryland Historical Trust at 877-634-6361 to get more information on each property.

Contact the owner of each property by telephone or email. Ask if the historic home is available for wedding ceremonies, how much the rental fee and deposit will cost and whether your wedding date is available. Take notes next to each property name to avoid confusion later.

5
Pay the rental fee and sign acceptance of responsibility documents that are provided to you by the property owner or management. Many historic homes charge a deposit that will be held by the owner to cover any damages the property may sustain during your wedding ceremony.
