How to Say Thank You for a Baptism Gift
It is easy to feel overwhelmed after the birth and baptism of a child. You may spend a few days sorting out the gifts, freezing leftover food, cleaning the house and dealing with out-of-town guests. Afterward, sit down and write thank-you notes to the people who attended and participated in the baptism of your child. According to proper etiquette, thank-you notes should be sent within two weeks after the baptism ceremony.

1
Make a list of all gifts received. Include specific information such as "hand-crocheted blanket by Aunt Doris" or "$50 gift check from Andrew's boss." Also, make a list of everyone who attended the ceremony.
-
2
Use good-quality stationery or thank-you cards. If you are using preprinted cards, include a short, handwritten message. Address the letter and envelope properly. Double-check all names and addresses, especially for out-of-town guests. Refer to your own address book or a telephone directory.

Write from the heart and keep the note short and simple. In most cases, two to four sentences is appropriate. Refer to the specific gift given and offer a general remark about its usefulness. For example, "We are delighted with the lovely blanket you crocheted for Sarah. It will keep her warm and toasty during the coming winter." Mention the exact amount of monetary gifts and how you plan to spend the money. For example, "Thank you for your $100 check. We plan to add it to Paul's college fund."
-
4
Thank everyone for attending the baptism and making the day a special one. Mention any future get-togethers. For example, 'I'm looking forward to seeing you next month at the church bazaar."
-
5
Sign your name, the name of your spouse or partner and your baby's name. Include a photograph of the baby.
