Exporting the bill of materials from Sage Simply Accounting is not difficult if you have accumulated the information properly in your Simply Accounting software. The Simply Accounting software provides several options to export the information in the format you need.

      Open a Simply Accounting company.

      Navigate to the delivered "Bill of Materials and Item Assembly" report. This is found by using the Menu bar at the top of your Simply Accounting window, selecting "Reports" and choosing "Journal Entries" followed by "Bill of Materials."

      Enter the criteria needed for your bill of materials report based on your reporting needs. The report can be run by accounting date or journal entry by selecting the appropriate radio button. There are other reporting options which appear on the left side of the report window which you have opened. These options include the data to include, how to sort the data and font settings, among others.

      Press the "OK" button. This will create an online report based on the criteria you selected.

      Select the method of export for your report. This is accomplished by navigating to "File" on the Menu bar. There are two options: "Export..." and "Open in Microsoft Excel..." The window of your bill of materials report is called "Bill of Materials & Item Assembly Journal Display." Select "Export..." if you want to export the file as a .txt, .htm, .csv or .pdf file. Select "Open in Microsoft Excel" if you want to open the created report in Excel and then "Save As" a file on your computer.
