You can publish custom websites to your MobileMe account using the iDisk.

MobileMe is a paid subscription service offered by Apple to allow Mac users to sync data between multiple computers. In addition, each MobileMe account comes with a block of online storage space that can be used to store websites. If you do not want to use a program such as iWeb to build your MobileMe website, you can upload a custom site to your iDisk and then publish it on the web.

Instructions

    • 1

Organize your custom website in a single folder on your local hard drive.

    • 2

Move the folder that contains your website to the desktop of your Mac and ensure that it has an "index.html" file in the root level. This is the document that web browsers will use as the default landing page for your custom website.

    • 3

Open a new Finder window by clicking on the Finder icon in the Dock at the bottom of the screen.

    • 4

Highlight "iDisk" from the "Devices" list on the left side of the window and then wait for the computer to load your MobileMe data.

    • 5

Open the "Web" folder on your iDisk and double-click on the "Sites" folder.

    • 6

Drag and drop your custom website folder from the desktop into the "Sites" folder on your iDisk.

    • 7

Wait for the files to finish uploading and then open a web browser to view your custom website. You will find the site at http://web.me.com/myname/myfolder, replacing "myname" with your MobileMe username and "myfolder" with the name of the folder you uploaded.
