Instructions for the American Standard ACONT900
The American Standard ACONT900 adjustable thermostat allows you to set the temperature for up to seven days. Many people purchase this device as part of a complete heating and air conditioning system. If you are buying a new system, have a professional install the cooling and heating units. You should be able to install the thermostat without much difficulty. However, if you are unable to do the installation, consult the instruction manual included with the unit. Turn off all of the existing heating and air conditioning in your home.

Place the thermostat sub base against the included wall plate so that the mounting holes of the sub base align with the mounting holes of the wall plate. Slide the wall plate and sub base against the wall so that the base is flush with the wall. Slide the sub base slightly out of the way and mark the location of the mounting holes on the wall, using a pencil.

Use a 3/16-inch bit to drill holes into the wall in the marked locations. Slide the wall plate and sub base against the holes and secure them to the wall using screws.

Loosen the sub base terminal screws using a screwdriver. Slide a wire into the terminal block next to the screw. Do this for each loosened screw. Re-tighten the screws and push excess wire into the hole of the sub base.

Align the screw block of the sub base with the pins on the rear side of the comfort control, and slide the comfort control into the sub base. Wire the system according to the wiring diagram included with the thermostat. You must connect the data port of the thermostat to the data port of the indoor and outdoor units. After connecting these units, they configure automatically.

Return power to your heating and air conditioning system. Turn on the thermostat and set the date using the up and down arrow keys. Press the "Done" key after setting the date and time.

Press the "System" key, and press and hold the blank keys on each side of the center key. Use the up and down arrow keys to enter the "Setup Number." Enter "0120" for the first two digits on the date, "0130" for the last two digits of the date, "0140" for the month and "0150" for the day. For additional codes, check your instruction manual.
