How to Repair Food Saver Vac & Seal Units

FoodSaver Vacuum and Seal units remove all oxygen and moisture from your food's storage bag to prevent flavor loss and degradation. Replacement parts and repair kits are readily available on FoodSaver's website so you can repair your unit. Poor suction that creates an insufficient vacuum seal is the most common problem FoodSaver owners encounter. It takes just a few minutes to repair poor suction problems.

• FoodSaver vacuum seal gasket

Instructions

1. Remove the FoodSaver vacuum sealer's lid and locate the black rubber gasket found at the outer edge of vacuum sealer, directly below the lid.

2. Remove the rubber gasket by pinching it between your fingers and pulling up. Inspect it for tears or significant wear. For the unit to function properly the gasket must provide an uninterrupted seal.

3. Place the new gasket flat side down in the grove around the top edge of the vacuum sealer. Push the gasket into the grove until it is flush.

4. Replace the vacuum sealer's lid and test. It should now be functioning properly.
