Instructions

    • 1

Slide out the front panel of the two brackets and set it aside for later use. This is the side that faces out into the room, while the other side of the bracket is fastened against the wood of the window.

    • 2

Install the left and right brackets of the mini blinds into the window. Remove the front panel of each bracket and place the right bracket in the top right-hand corner of the window. The open side where you removed the front panel faces you and the other open end faces toward the left. With a screwdriver or the screwdriver attachment on your drill, affix the bracket with two screws. The brackets come with several holes in different positions, so you can put the screws in any two holes.

    • 3

Repeat step 2 for the left side bracket, with the panel section facing toward you and the other open end facing to the right.

    • 4

Insert the valance clips onto the front headrail of the mini blinds. The short side of the clips is on the head rail while the long side faces the room. Position the valance clips on each side of the strings that hold the blinds together. The headrail is the section that is placed in the brackets.

    • 5

Install the headrail into the open brackets. Replace the panel fronts to hold the mini blinds in position so that they don't fall out when you pull the cord to raise and lower the blinds.

    • 6

Hook the wand into the tilt mechanism. The wand is a long piece of round plastic, with a hook or hole at one end. This is the end that inserts in the tilt mechanism at the top left side of the headrail. Turn the wand to open or close the mini blinds.

    • 7

Lower the blinds by pulling the cord toward the center of the window, and let the blinds glide down. Do not let go of the cord or you could damage the mini blinds. When you want to raise the blinds, pull on the cord. Lock the blinds in position by pulling the cord to the right.

    • 8

Measure the length of the headrail and transfer this measurement to the valance slats with a pencil. Cut the valance slats with a pair of scissors along your mark; then slip the valance slats onto the valance clips.
