Instructions for the MK Wet Tile Cutter
MK Diamond products make several different models of tile cutting saws. However, the general concept is the same. If you understand how to use a miter saw, you will have no problems adapting the technique to a tile-cutting saw. MK tile saws are equipped with diamond tipped saw blades or masonry blades used for cutting ceramic and stone tile. They also use cutting liquid to keep the saw blade and cutting surface cool. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the black drain plug located on the metal base of the saw. Place a bucket under the hole in the table and then place the water pump into the bottom of the bucket. Fill the bucket with a cutting solution or with water. Make sure the entire pump is submerged under the cutting fluid. This is the process for setting the saw up to use an external cooling liquid, which is the preferred method, listed in the owner's manual.
-
2
Plug the saw into a GFI (ground fault interrupter) electrical outlet. This is very important since you are using an electrical appliance that has water running through it. In the event of an accident, a GFI outlet will cut power to the saw and prevent injury to the operator.

3
Loosen the thumbscrew on the cutting straight edge mounted on the top of the cutting table.
-
4
Place the straightedge at the desired cutting length. For example, if you need a three-inch tile, measure from the left side of the slot on the table that the saw blade goes into with a tape measure three-inches and then place the straightedge at that location. Turn the thumbscrew clockwise to tighten the straightedge in place. Depending on the model of saw you use, the table has a measuring guide mounted to it. In this case, a tape measure is not necessary.
-
5
Set the cutting depth of the saw blade by loosening the thumb screw on the left side of the cutter head assembly. Lower the blade into the table so the blade rests between 1/4-and-1/2-inch below the table surface. Tighten the thumbscrew to lock the cutter head assembly in place.
-
6
Place the tile against the cutting straight edge. Hold the tile with one hand. However, make sure your hand stays away from the blade.
-
7
Turn on the saw. This will automatically start the water pump and the saw blade.
-
8
Slide the saw blade towards the front of the tile in a smooth and consistent motion. Allow the saw blade to cut the tile. Do not force the blade through the tile.
-
9
Turn off the saw and allow the blade to come to a complete stop. Slide the saw blade back and remove the tile pieces.
