How to Troubleshoot a U3 Drive

The U3 Launchpad is a convenient utility application installed on a variety of SanDisk flash drives. The Launchpad provides support for mobile applications installed directly to the flash drive without the need for installation to the computer. If the U3-based flash drive produces an error when plugged into a computer, the problem can often be resolved by reinstalling the Launchpad, updating the computer's drivers or uninstalling the device operating system to properly recognize it.

Instructions

Device Not Recognized

1. Insert the flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

2. Right-click the "Computer" icon from the "Start" menu.

3. Click "Manage" to enter your Computer Management window.

4. Click "Device Manager" and click the "+" next to "Disk Drives."

5. Locate the SanDisk flash drive that will have a yellow question mark icon.

6. Right-click the device and select "Uninstall."

7. Open the "Action" menu and select "Scan for Hardware Changes."

8. Open "Computer" and check if the device was recognized properly.

Updating Drivers
