How do I Remove OnStar on a 2001 Saab 93?

The 2001 9-3 Saab comes standard with an OnStar module. OnStar is a package that offers vehicle tracking, hands-free phone calls and emergency services. If you no longer wish to subscribe to the OnStar service, you can cancel your subscription at anytime. Regardless of if you pay for a subscription, OnStar can still track and locate your Saab if the OnStar box is still connected to your vehicle. You can disconnect the OnStar box and remove it from your Saab without using any tools, and it will only take a few minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Saab 9-3's trunk and lift up the floor mat that covers the spare tire.

    • 2

Locate the OnStar box in your Saab's trunk. The box is located next to the spare tire and has the OnStar logo on it.

    • 3

Locate and disconnect the three wires that are attached to the OnStar box by pulling them out of the side of the box. OnStar is now disconnected and your vehicle can no longer be located.

    • 4

Locate the tabs that connect the OnStar box to the body of your Saab. There are two tabs, one of each side of the box.

    • 5

Press in and hold the tabs down at the same time. Lift the box up out of your trunk while the tabs are pressed in.

    • 6

Replace the floor mat back into your Saab's trunk.
