How to Tow an Isuzu Axiom
The Isuzu Axiom is a five-door sports utility vehicle that was produced from 2002 through 2004. This mid-size SUV came standard with a V6 engine with the option of a four-wheel drive system. If your Axiom has broken down or is no longer safe to drive, you may need to tow it. You may also just want to tow it behind another vehicle. Regardless of why you need to tow the Axiom, you should follow the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid damaging the vehicle.

1
Attach the tow truck wheel lift to the front of the Axiom to elevate the front wheels and tow it if you are using a tow truck. Never use one of the tow trucks with a sling tow because it can actually damage the vehicle. The vehicle must be in neutral for towing behind the tow truck.

2
Put the Axiom on the back of a flatbed tow truck, which keeps the wheels level and prevents any damage to the trans-axle. You will find some tie-down hooks on the underside of the vehicle at the rear and front. These are for use when towing on a flatbed so that you can secure the vehicle to the flatbed. The tow truck driver will have his own tie-down straps, so you do not need to carry any with you.

3
Use wheel dollies if you have no choice but to tow the Axiom from the rear with a tow truck. Rear towing can damage the vehicle if you do not use wheel dollies. They raise the front of the vehicle off the ground to prevent damage. Make sure the vehicle is in neutral for towing.

4
Utilize a vehicle trailer if you want to tow the Axiom behind a RV or another vehicle. While you can find vehicle tow bars for towing behind RVs and other vehicles, the Isuzu Axiom owner's manual recommends against using these devices to prevent damage to the vehicle. If you use a vehicle trailer to tow with instead, you will keep the vehicle wheels level and up off the ground for transport.
