How to Make Spinning Pens

Pen spinning involves the skillful twirling of a writing instrument with your fingers. Pen spinning is used as a form of self-entertainment, but it is also a popular sport. There are many pen spinning competitions held nationally. From simple tricks to elaborate demonstrations, you can hone your skills with practice.

Things You'll Need

• 2 BIC round Stic ball pens, medium
• 1 pen tube
• 2 pen ink cartridges
• 2 pen caps
• 1 rubber grip

Instructions

1. Remove the ink cartridges from each pen tube, leaving the writing head still attached. Cut 1 centimeter at the bottom of the two pen cartridges just before reaching the ink. Discard one of the pen tubes.

2. Slide one of the ink cartridges into one side of the tube or ink cartridge holder. Then slide the other ink cartridge into the other side of the tube, alongside the first cartridge. It will be a tight fit.

3. Cut off the tails from the two pen caps. Slide a cap onto both sides of the pen. Cut one rubber grip in half and slide the grip onto the edge of the pen's cap on each side. Once you're done, you will have created a well-balanced twirling tool to perform your spinning pen tricks.
