How to Troubleshoot a Creative Labs ZEN That Does Not Reboot
The Creative Labs Zen is an MP3 player developed by Creative. When attempting to reboot your Zen by turning it off and turning it back on, you might be alarmed when it does not turn back on. The cause can be attributed to a depleted battery. However, if the battery is so depleted that the charging icon does not appear, there is another way to ensure that your Zen is charging.

1
Plug one end of the included USB cable into your Zen's USB port. Connect the other end into any available USB port on your computer.
-
2
Press the "Reset" button located on your Zen.

-
3
Verify that the green charging icon appears on the Zen's screen. This icon is in the shape of a battery with a lightning bolt through it. If the charging icon is not displayed, this means the battery is fully depleted.
-
4
Verify that there is a blue light behind both of your "Play" and "Pause" buttons by cupping your hands together tightly behind your Zen. If you see the blue light, this confirms your Zen is charging.
-
5
Charge your player for six hours, making sure your computer does not enter Sleep Mode or any variation of it.
-
6
Press and hold the "Power" button on your Zen. It should now boot normally.
