How to Reinstall Tiger

In the event of a hard drive crash, the Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger installation disc contains the original settings for your Apple computer, which will restore the computer to its factory settings. Fortunately, the restoration process allows you to archive previous data on your hard drive to minimize loss, and stores it in Finder on your restored hard drive for later access. Alternately, you can erase all data on the computer and start fresh to remove files that may have caused the error.
