How to Get an App Store Account

An Apple App Store account is essential when purchasing, updating or installing apps or leaving reviews for apps you use on your computer, iPhone or iPod. Instructions

1. Open iTunes and sign out of any user account that may already be logged in. You can do so by clicking "Store" then "Sign Out."

2. Click "App Store" on the navigation bar.

3. Search for and purchase a free application. You can do so by clicking "Free App" under the application you wish to purchase.

4. Click "Create New Account" on the pop-up that appears asking you to log in to your Apple account.

5. Click "Continue" and then accept terms and agreements of the iTunes store. Click "Continue" and finish creating your account by entering your email, new password and security question.

6. Click "Continue," and if you want to add a credit card to your account you can do so now or select the "None" radio button. Complete the process by entering your name and address, then click "Done" on the page asking you to verify your account.

7. Check your email and click the link to activate your account and then log in to iTunes using your newly created account. When finished, you'll be prompted by a screen saying "Congratulations."
