How Can I Move the Taskbar?
Housing quick access to currently running tasks, the taskbar is found in every version of the Windows operating system. While the default placement for the taskbar is at the bottom of your screen, the taskbar can be moved to any side of your screen. Initially, the taskbar is locked into place. If you want to move the taskbar, you will first need to unlock it.

Right-click the Windows taskbar. This displays a context menu on your screen.

Click to remove the check mark next to "Lock the taskbar." The context menu disappears.

Move your mouse pointer over the taskbar. Hold down the left-click button while simultaneously moving your mouse. This moves your taskbar.

Right-click the taskbar and click "Lock the taskbar" when satisfied with the new position.
