How to Hatch a Fossil in Pokemon SoulSilver

Fossils are a sought after item in "Pokemon: SoulSilver Edition," because they allow you to gain access to hidden Pokemon that are unattainable by other means. Fossils are contained within rocks that appear as obstacles on the screen. Not all places in the game world contain rocks with fossils in them. Rather, you must search for the best fossils.

Things You'll Need

• Rock
• Pokemon capable of "Rock Smash" command
• Fossil
• Access to Pewter City

Instructions

1. Locate a rock that appears as an obstacle in the main path and walk up to it.

2. Select a Pokemon that is capable of the "Rock Smash" command and use it on the rock.

3. Collect the fossil from the remains of the rock. Note that the game randomly generates whether a rock will contain a fossil.

4. Take the fossil to the museum in Pewter City.

5. Speak with the scientist inside the museum and he will hatch the fossil.

Tips & Warnings

• Cliff Cave is the best place to find rocks that contain fossils.
