Instructions

    • 1

Mark the location of where the new flood light is to be installed. Drill a hole large enough for the wiring and any clamps will be able to fit through.

    • 2

Find the nearest power source for the new flood light. The source needs to be able to handle the additional load placed on it by the new flood light. Turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker box.

    • 3

Feed 14/2 wire through the hole that was drilled for the flood light towards the connection point. Use wire stripper to move the sheath and connect to the power source.

    • 4

Mark on the wall where the new interior switch is to be located. Outline the switch and then cut out the dry wall with a utility knife. Fish additional wire from the connection towards the switch box. Staple the cable where possible to keep it from moving.

    • 5

Install the switch by connecting the ground cable to the green or dark colored screw on the switch. Connect the other two wires to the two screws located on the side of the switch. The top wire should go in the top screw, the bottom wire in the bottom screw. The loops made around the screws should loop in the same direction as the screw turns. Tighten down the screws. Install the switch into the wall with the screwdriver.

    • 6

Install the cable clamp into the back of the light fixture. The cable clamp will hold the wire in place. Fish the wire through the back of the fixture and extend through the fixture about 8 to 10 inches. Tighten down the cable clamp screws.

    • 7

Mount the fixture securely to the wall or soffit with screws and a drill. Verify the hold is firm since this will be supporting the weight of the lights.

    • 8

Cut the sheath off the wire extending from the fixture. Remove all the insulation from the ground wire and wrap around the grounding screw in the light fixture. Strip off the last ½ inch of insulation from the black and white wires.

    • 9

Place the foam gasket provided over the back of the light. Connect the wires from the lighting to the matching wires you just created. Use wire nuts to secure the connections.

    • 10

Install the light into the fixture with the screws provided with the kit. Once secure, screw in the light bulbs for the flood light. Turn the circuit breaker back on and test the light. If it does not work, check all wiring connections from the switch, to the power source and the wiring connection to the light.
