How to Export MSN Favorites to Internet Explorer 8

Until recently, exporting MSN Favorites to Internet Explorer 8 involved a collection of multi-step processes that took several minutes to complete. With the implementation of Windows Live, you can export your Favorites from MSN and import them into Internet Explorer 8 by using the automated features included with Windows Live.

Instructions

  1. Import Favorites to Windows Live

      Visit the Windows Live website (see Resources).

      Type your Windows Live ID and password to sign in.

      Click "Import."

      Click "Install ActiveX Control" at the top of the page if it appears, then click "Install."

      Choose the MSN Explorer folder, then click "Import."

      Click "OK."

    Export Favorites From Windows Live

      Click "Export."

      Follow the on-screen instructions. These instructions will ask you to perform different actions, depending on your personal preferences.
