If you need to save money or simply cannot find the shower favor that fits your theme or style, you can easily make your own favors. Handmade shower favors will also leave a lasting impression on your shower guests and let them know how much thought went into your gift for them. A message can be left on a unique gift to explain the gift's significance. Jars, gift boxes, tulle bags or decorative boxes can be used to hold the favor. The package does not necessarily need to hide the favor it holds, but should complement it and make it look ready to give as a gift.

Instructions

1. Choose a favor that fits your theme. This can be your favorite candy or a confection in your wedding colors. If your style is natural, you might choose something like a flowering plant with a message explaining that the flowers will grow just as your love for each other will. If it is more formal, you may choose a favor such as a bookmark or paper weight engraved with your wedding date.

2. Choose a box or sheer cloth bag in white, clear or neutral colors that fits your chosen favor. Put the favors inside the package and close it.

3. Choose ribbon that is the color of your main or brightest wedding color. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the package and tie it in a small bow on the top or the side.

Tips & Warnings

• Instead of tying a bow with the ribbon, use a wax seal or fancy sticker to stick the ribbon ends together.
