How to Delete the Junk in My Passport

Microsoft's Passport service allows you to connect with a variety of services, including the Xbox Marketplace and Windows Live. Passport accounts are associated with Microsoft's Hotmail or Live.com email accounts. These accounts come with Junk mail folders designed to prevent spam from appearing in your email account. From time to time, delete the items in the junk folder to empty it.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit Hotmail.com or Live.com to sign in to the email account associated with your Passport account. Type your user name and password and click "Sign In."

    • 2

Click on "Inbox" to navigate to your email inbox. From your inbox, you'll see "Junk" beneath "Folders."

    • 3

Click on "Junk" to display your junk mail folder.

    • 4

Click on the selection box above the top junk mail message. This option highlights all of the junk messages for deletion. If you see junk mail messages you want to keep, click on the box next to the individual message to deselect it.

    • 5

Scroll down to the area beneath the junk mail messages. You'll see a text button marked "Delete." Click it to delete the junk mail in your Passport email account.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rather than select all of the messages by clicking on the top selection box, you can also click on the box next to each individual message you want to delete. Messages with a check mark will be deleted. Those without a check mark will not be deleted.
